In early 2021, Sweet Dirt broke ground on a 32,800 square foot sustainable greenhouse - the largest of its kind in Maine - located at 495 Harold L Dow Highway (Route 236) in Eliot, Maine - just minutes off of I-95.

While construction slowed in March and April due to COVID, the greenhouse has been erected and is now well underway with underground utilities complete, roof caps installed, and the slab being poured in the next week or two.

What does nearly three-quarters of an acre of multi-bay greenhouse look like? Take a peek in the video below:

Built to withstand harsh Maine winters, the multi-bay facility will feature high thermal performance, extreme snow and wind load capacity, an automated light-shading system, and more - using about a third of the energy required by a traditional indoor operation.

The greenhouse is now fully operational and we are proudly growing our MOFGA certified clean cannabis year-round.
